Movema World Dance Studios are holding their launch event on 29th October, rx 12 – 5pm at Cains Brewery (Baltic Triangle). It’s a fundraising event for all the family, more about featuring free live music and dance workshops to celebrate both their seventh birthday and grand opening!
Following a successful KickStarter campaign and colourful renovation of the top floor of the Cains Brewery building, award-winning dance company Movema are delighted to celebrate their grand opening and seventh birthday with free dance performances and a live music extravaganza. The rest of the Cains Brewery Village family, including sports-coffee shop hybrid Ryde, vintage bazaar Red Brick Vintage, boutique clothing shop Bijou and up and coming craft and vintage specialist Tinderbox Fairs will be present to deliver a quality event for all the family to enjoy.
Founded in 2009, Movema has changed the face of dance in the Merseyside area, as well as being a key part of Africa Oye and Brouhaha Carnival to name a few! Movema provide enriching opportunities through world dance to people of the area who would previously not have been able to enjoy and take part in dance classes or workshops, including both children and adults.
On top of providing quality world dance classes to the people of Liverpool, Movema also work closely with LIPA and Mersey Care NHS with their “Moving Minds” mental health care programme, in which they provide dance and movement workshops to individuals or groups affected by mental health concerns.
Now, as they approach their seventh year as a company, Movema are inviting the public to come and celebrate with them as they host free dance classes, dance workshops and live music performances.
Movema director Ithalia Forel said: “We might only be a small non-for-profit company, but we punch above our weight and we’re thrilled to be entering an exciting new chapter in Movema’s story”
