The Comedy Trust are venturing into the history of WW1 with their latest comedy project starting in January 2017. Funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, TCT will be working with four of its recent ‘Stand Out’ programme graduate school’s based in Merseyside. Across five months students explore how comedy and humour was used as an effective tool in supporting the Great British public and soldiers on the front line.

Participants will curate and design their own exhibition at the Museum of Liverpool, work alongside historians and archivists, devise their own vaudeville performance in conjunction with fellow COoL member Tmesis Theatre, record people’s family stories as content for their own documentary and will be giving the opportunity to visit the Imperial War Museum North, Museum of Liverpool and Liverpool Central Library to gather research for their exhibition. OLC secure Arts Council England ‘Elevate’ Funding

COoL member One Latin Culture (OLC) has secured Arts Council England ‘Elevate’ funding.

Arts Council England are investing £5.3 million in 40 organisations who are making a significant contribution to the Creative Case for Diversity, but who are not currently receiving National Portfolio funding.

The Elevate grant will enable OLC to build the capacity of the organisation, strengthen its governance, secure two part-time posts, develop the company’s resilience, consolidate existing partnerships and help develop new ones. This funding will allow OLC to develop a company that has the ability and resources to help support the Latin American and diversity, arts & culture offer in the North, and throughout England.

OLC would like to take this opportunity to give a big thanks to all those who have supported us in both good and challenging times, including the Latin American and local communities, partners, artists, volunteers, participants and friends. We will be updating everyone in the coming months about the organisation’s plans.
