We’re pleased to report funding success for several COoL members which will realise exciting new projects in 2017:
LAAF have received Big Lottery Funding for a massive community celebration of Eid-al-Fitr will be held in Liverpool’s Lodge Lane next year. Put July 8 in your diaries. Read more in Liverpool Echo.
MDI raised a fantastic £5,175 worth of support for LEAP 2017 through a Kickstarter campaign. LEAP will mark MDI’s 25th anniversary.
The Comedy Trust are venturing into the history of WW1 with their latest comedy project starting in January 2017. Funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, TCT will be working with four of its recent ‘Stand Out’ programme graduate school’s based in Merseyside. Across five months students explore how comedy and humour was used as an effective tool in supporting the Great British public and soldiers on the front line.
Participants will curate and design their own exhibition at the Museum of Liverpool, work alongside historians and archivists, devise their own vaudeville performance in conjunction with fellow COoL member Tmesis Theatre, record people’s family stories as content for their own documentary and will be giving the opportunity to visit the Imperial War Museum North, Museum of Liverpool and Liverpool Central Library to gather research for their exhibition. Visit TCT website for more information.
